Year 8 Maths Tuition in Ashford – Small Group Lessons

Our Year 8 Maths group lessons in Ashford are designed to help pupils strengthen their KS3 Maths skills and build a strong foundation for GCSE Maths.

Year 8 is an important stage in secondary school, as pupils begin to meet more advanced topics in number, algebra, geometry, statistics and problem-solving. These lessons will support school learning while also preparing children for the demands of GCSE Maths in the future.

The course will focus on developing accuracy, confidence, reasoning skills and exam-style problem-solving. Pupils will be encouraged to understand methods clearly, practise regularly and close any gaps in their knowledge.

The Year 8 Maths curriculum will include:

Number and Calculations
Fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, proportion, negative numbers, indices and standard form.

Algebra
Simplifying expressions, expanding brackets, factorising, solving equations, substitution and sequences.

Graphs and Coordinates
Coordinates, straight-line graphs, plotting points and interpreting graphs.

Geometry and Measures
Angles, constructions, symmetry, transformations, area, perimeter, surface area and volume.

Statistics and Probability
Averages, charts, graphs, data interpretation and probability.

These KS3 Maths lessons are suitable for pupils who want to improve their confidence, strengthen their school Maths performance and prepare early for GCSE Maths.

Lessons will take place every Saturday from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.

This will be a small group Maths tuition session, and places will be limited to ensure each child receives proper support and attention.
